Samurai are incredibly badass. They were honorable, and could do just about anything with a sword. Their armor was flamboyant without being too weird.
I'm pretty sure that if a samurai died, his wife had to throw herself onto a fire. Wow. For you TV lovers, a samurai on the show Heroes is immortal and killing tons of people. His name is Hiro. Creative, I know.
Anyway, I've been playing DDR lately, and I reached a boss song. It is called Super Samurai. It begins with a warning:
I'm a samurai coming to NYC
I'm a samurai coming to NYC
I'm a samurai coming to NYC
To NYC, to NYC
The words become more ominous:
You paid the price
You won't survive
Let my sword slice and dice
And deal death precise when I
Rise out of the shadows for heavy battles
Let my foes run then hide
On the streets of the Big AppleExplosion attack
100-hand slap
I crack skulls on katana impact
Back for revenge, I'm sent to cause mayhem
Nobody's friend, I tend to leave dead men
That's scary as hell, plus an E. Honda reference. So I lost. The samurai sent mayhem and I was left for dead.
After losing, the announcer in the game taunts you until you turn off the game, break it and buy a new one, try again, or cry.
So after the tears dried, I went back to my computer for some undergroup rap to brighten up my evening. Last.fm recommended a Madvillain song called Rhinestone Cowboy. For those who don't know, Madvillain is a group made up of the rappers MF DOOM and Madlib. MF DOOM is dressed like a fat urban samurai who came to NYC.
